Against all odds, what we feared most has befallen us … It is with a heavy heart that we at the Zambian Chronicle have to take this step to inform our readers around the world that Zambian President Levy P Mwanawasa, SC. died this morning at 10:30 AM in Paris, France. This page will be set aside as long as possible for all of us to mourn his passing. President Levy P Mwanawasa, SC. was one of the best assets not only to the Zambian Enterprise but to the world at large.

We will chronicle in detail more about his accomplishments later. In fact, he has been leading the chart as the first pick for our African President of the Year Award. We will still honor him posthumously should the final stats show he scooped the prize.

What a loss, pafwe mpande, pashala ifupuba … Rest in peace, Levy; rest in peace … you were the best. Thanks a trillion for all you did for the Zambian Enterprise in the shortest possible time, thanks a trillion.

MYSRIP

My God…I have seen levy for self Lying in his last bedding while mourners were trying confort each other. when I reached his bedding coffin, a millitaly office showed me a symbol for me to hurry.I asked myself why do they like be in hurry when iam still in my process of viewing.then something came in my head to think about – if zambia will be rulled by millitaly officers.when I came outside the building another convoy of mourners seemly to increase all the way from showground main arena. I sat down and started thinking about what was inside the hearts of these mourners.was it all about love of god or…(Mwanawasa my condolences to you),Go in peace-rest in peace Levy. Us being your witnesses on earth,We hope the apostle Paul will open your widely for you to enter the new kingdom of God were corruption is never ever mentioned.

levy oh levy, how many times will your history of prosperity enter our brain capacity, how many times will your successor review your constitution. you`ve set all examples to your cabinets from the begging to your everlasting bedding. No one has seen you going with huge sum of money and wealth. When I was viewing your body,I did not see any money hiden around..,All what I saw was the Love of mourners around you(Bilia is my witness) and that officer who nearly wanted to differ with me during the body viewing. And so, I don`t want to hear anything about you over zambian money.MYSRIP LEVY.

  26. Victor Mwewa Says:

This is sad for us the people of Zambia. The best we can do in times like this is to remain united and pray to the almighty God for guidance. Levy now is in the hands of the lord and we should now cry for ourselves. The Lord can not let us down and he will give us a good leader again. Let’s just pray. May the Lord look after the first family in these troubled times.

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE ( LEVY )

  27. Victor Mwewa Says:

United we stand divided we fall. An old saying yet with a lot of meaning and sense. Let me remind the first Lady not to loose track on what her role is. She should mourn her respectable husband in a quite and peaceful manner. The whole world is watching her. If she wants credit, it is in these trying moments that she will earn it. She should not look at the people that her mourning her husband as to whether they are enermies or not. I say this because of what transpired in Chipata.

  28. Musaku Jonathan Kachinda Says:

I have always cherished your work, Levy, as lawyer you were a leader in the field- you were the People’s Lawyer and you ably represented chance to multi-party democracy through MMD. As President you were bald and honest enough to take us through HIPC and succeded- reminding us that “there’s no sweet without sweat” and the rest is history. We value your high moral teachings and the fight against corruption, etc. You set a good example to your successors, that they need to take our country to the next (higher) level of development.
    M.Y.S.R.I.P.

  29. moses mukenda Says:

what has transpired in chipata has brought cold shivering in my capacity, By the way,Why didn`t that leader who is Mr king Cobs revealed portion of his private secrete agreement with the late levy to Mrs mwanawasa or Mr mulongoti whilst the man was admitted at perce hosipital, paris in france? He would have done it in proffessional manners than the way he handled it at the chipata airport.
What are those reasons of following the body when you are not asked to do so. Any way, lets hope he will reveal the secrete to the post for zambian people to know the tying knot between the two friends.
But other wise, lets cry for hour leader with diginity.

  30. we should also look upon our lives and not go on ,trying to find mistakes in others what they did or did not do ,its really a great loss ,i ask my self a question what if i die ,am i ready ,have i put things in place ? may we build bonds that won’t be broken to maintain a peacefull nation, and that with the help of God above ,a leader to arise again who is going to develop our nation and lead us united as a peaceful nation not devided in our different parties ,may we remain to look upon what was not completed to be carried forward.

All too often we take for granted the one ahead of us ,appointed to lead us ,until they are no more ,thats whe we see how precious they were….

My Dear president Levy patrick mwanawasa rest in enternal peace ,till we meet again…. You were a great leader for real.

Tears may dry but memories are so fresh….

    Mr Brain R Mumba,
Are you mourning together with zambian people? What about Bilia, is she there at zamchro? ask her to contribute something torward our dear levy.

    Thanx a trillion.

  33. brainsplus Says:

    Moses,
… yes, you betcha ya … that’s why we specifically created this page so we can mourn together – we are in this thing together.

Mama Bilia is very much involved as well, comment # 16 on this page is from her wishing the first family especially Mrs. Mwanawasa well during this period of mourning … thanks a trillion

  34. moses mukenda Says:

    I see!

  35. moses mukenda Says:

The heading of post paper dated 1st september will bring division among MMD leaders-Believe me or not.

Madam, what is your comment on this one?

  36. brainsplus Says:

    Moses,
… I can tell that your last question was directed at Belliah and she will respond whenever she has a chance but I wanted to eat her lunch for a little bit …

You see, the MMD has not had any party unity since FTJ’s failed “third term” bid. In fact, the emergency of all other political parties within our enterprise with an exception of UNIP and UPND has been due to MMD disunity.

Now, Levy was smart enough to notice this when he was first elected. He could not trust any old guards in his own party. This is evident from the fact that he could not even fill the position of Minister of Defense until he was comfortable with the system.

His own VP picks speaks volumes, Enock Kavindele former UNIP, Nevers Mumba was not MMD but NCC, Lupudo Mwape had strong UNIP roots and even the acting VP Rupiah Banda is UNIP, still is … the first lady is now telling us, Mwanawasa preferred Magande to succeed him while on his death bed, well Magande was UPND, prior to that he was UNIP …

We can’t therefore talk about party disunity now like it is a new thing, it has been there more than you actually realize now, most of its effects have been latent but now we seem to have reached the crux of matter … thanks a trillion.

  37. Victor Mwewa Says:

Mama Belia may you please get intouch.

I have not read the Post News Paper today. Am not on the same wave length with them lately.

  38. brainsplus Says:

    Victor,
… Belliah is on a well deserved vacation, you won’t miss her presence here when she gets back, stay tuned and keep up the good work … thanks a trillion

  39. Evelyn Says:

    Dear Chronicle,
We are just as much in mourning as every Zambian home, even though we are thousands of miles apart. Please would you kindly post a video of the burial on this site for us to have a feel of being at home with you guys? Many thanks in advance

  40. brainsplus Says:

    Evelyn,
… what a tragic moment for the Zambian Enterprise, we are in this thing together. A video will be available this evening and we will post it on the home page then … thanks a trillion
